Sparring/Kickboxing

Our Sparring or Kickboxing classes on Friday is meant as a way for students from both styles to train together when they wouldn’t otherwise. We focus in different aspects of sparring and combat using a mix of Taekwon-Do and Chinese Kickboxing (Sanda). This class builds reaction skills as well as distance control and footwork.

General equipment that is required:

  • Hand gear: boxing gloves, or foam sparring gear.

  • Foot gear: Sparring boots, or shin guards with instep guard.

  • Head gear: A sparring helmet is required for anyone under the age of 18 and recommender for anyone over the age of 18. Mouth guards are required at all levels for free-sparring.

  • Cups are required for competition, chest guards are optional for class and free sparring.
